What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a mobile payment system that allows users to complete transactions using their compatible Apple device.
What cards are able to be added to Apple Pay?
All personal and business debit and credit cards are eligible to be added to Apple Pay.
How do I add my debit card to Apple Pay?
To add a credit or debit card on iPhone, open Wallet and tap in the upper-right corner. If your credit or debit card is on file with iTunes, you’ll be asked to add it. You may also choose to add a different card using the camera or by entering the card information manually. The bank will automatically try to complete the verification process, but on some occasions you may need to contact our ExpressBank to complete the process. You can also add your debit card to Apple Pay using our secure message within Online or Mobile Banking. Just select “Apple Pay” as the subject and provide details for the card you want to provision.
To add a credit or debit card on iPad Air or iPad mini, go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay, tap Add Credit or Debit Card, and then follow the same steps for iPhone above.
To add a BOKF credit or debit card on an Apple Watch, open the Apple Watch app on iPhone and tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
Is Apple Pay secure?
Your security is our highest priority. Instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card to Passbook, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip in iPhone. These numbers are never stored on Apple servers. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment. All transactions are monitored by our fraud systems and are protected by Visa’s Zero Liability*.
What do I do if I lose my Apple device?
You should contact our ExpressBank at (877) 205-1710 if your device is lost or stolen. We can assist you in removing the card from your device which will render the device useless for Apple Pay and allow you to continue using your traditional debit card. You may also visit icloud.com/find or use the Find My iPhone app to suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay from that device with Apple Pay. Your cards will be suspended or removed from Apple Pay even if your device is offline and not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network.

How do I return an item that was bought using Apple Pay in a store?
The cashier can use the Device Account Number to find the purchase and process the return, just like they would with a traditional credit or debit card payment. To see the last four or five digits of the Device Account Number, go to Passbook, tap the card, and tap the Information icon. For the Apple Watch, open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch > Passbook & Apple Pay. Tap the card to select it and see the Device Account Number. If the cashier needs card details to process the return, you can follow the same steps for making a payment:
- On the device that was used to make the original payment, select the card that should receive the refund.
- Hold the device near the reader and authorize the return with Touch ID or passcode.
- On the Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the face of your Apple Watch a few inches from the contactless reader. Depending on the return and refund policies of the store, it may take several days for the return transaction to appear on your credit or debit card statement.
